Scrap metal FAQs

Common questions about scrap metal sourcing, grading, and export.

What scrap metal grades does A.T Global Recycling handle?

Aluminum (taint/tabor, UBC, tense, 6063 extrusion, wire and cable), iron and steel (HMS 1 and 2, shredded, bundled, plate and structural, turnings), copper, stainless steel, lead-acid batteries, and radiators — all graded to ISRI specifications.

How is scrap metal pricing determined?

Pricing is indexed to prevailing LME (London Metal Exchange) rates and adjusted for grade, contamination, and volume. Quotes reflect current market conditions and include logistics cost breakdowns.

Do you handle export shipments of scrap metal from South Africa?

Yes. We coordinate end-to-end export freight with FOB, CFR, and CIF trade terms, and handle export permits, customs documentation, and compliance with South African scrap metal export regulations.

What minimum order quantity do you accept?

We handle both spot container-load orders (approximately 20 tonnes) and bulk vessel shipments. Smaller volumes can be consolidated with other buyers where logistics permit.
